Community members and students alike are welcome to submit to this unique multi-genre workshop. Idra will read and respond to 3-5 manuscripts of 10 pages or fewer. You may submit fiction, poetry, translation, or a combination. To submit your work, email it as a .doc, .docx, or .pdf file to writers@camden.rutgers.edu with the subject line “Idra Novey Workshop.” Submissions due October 10; participants will be notified if their work is selected by October 17. All are welcome to attend regardless of whether their work is selected for critique. 

Idra Novey is the author of the debut novel Ways to Disappear, New York Times Editors’ Choice. Born in western Pennsylvania, she has since lived in Chile, Brazil, and New York. Her poetry collection Exit, Civilian was selected for the 2011 National Poetry Series. Her fiction and poetry have been translated into eight languages and she’s written for The New York Times, NPR’s All Things Considered, and The Paris Review. She’s also translated the work of several prominent Brazilian writers, most recently Clarice Lispector’s novel The Passion According to G.H.
