Outside the Wire: Speaking Out about Marginalized Experiences in the Military

At this public program, part of the Writers House’s ongoing focus on veterans’ narratives, guests Samuel Black (curator of African American Programs, Heinz History Center), Helen Benedict (The Lonely Soldier: The Private War of Women Serving in Iraq), and area veterans discuss marginalized experiences in the military, including those of women, African Americans, LGBTQIA+ people, and others. This program is open to all, but veterans and their families are especially welcome.
