T Kira Madden T Kira Mahealani Madden is a writer, photographer, and amateur magician. A recipient of fellowships from the New York Foundation for the Arts, Hedgebrook, Tin House, the MacDowell Colony, and Yaddo, she serves as the founding Editor-in-chief of No Tokens, a magazine of literature and art. Her fiction and nonfiction has been featured in Harper’sNew York MagazineMcSweeney’s Quarterly Concern, and others, and she is the author of the 2019 New York Times Editors’ Choice memoir, Long Live the Tribe of Fatherless Girls, which is a finalist for the National Book Critics Circle Award, the LAMBDA Literary Award for Lesbian Memoir, and forthcoming as a feature film.

Emma Copley Eisenberg’s fiction, essays, and reportage have appeared in McSweeney’sThe Paris Review online, Granta, The Virginia Quarterly Review, Tin House, Guernica, AGNI, The Los Angeles Review of Books, American Short Fiction, Electric Literature’s Recommended Reading, The New Republic, Pacific Standard, SlateVICE, 100 Days in Appalachia, and others. She is the recipient of fellowships or awards from the Tin House Summer Workshop, the Elizabeth George Foundation, the Wurlitzer Foundation, the Millay Colony for the Arts, & Lambda Literary. Her short fiction has been awarded a Pushcart Prize and been distinguished three times over by the Best American Short Stories series and her nonfiction has been included in Longreads Best Crime Reporting 2017 and won awards from the New York Association of Black Journalists and the Deadline Club. Her first book of nonfiction is THE THIRD RAINBOW GIRL: THE LONG LIFE OF A DOUBLE MURDER IN APPALACHIA (Hachette Books 1/21/2020). She lives in Philadelphia, where she directs Blue Stoop, a hub for the literary arts.
